hi guys.

my first thought was that i wanted to simply post all of the resources, give those the full spotlight, and let them speak for themselves (to be then followed by taking action). but i recognize that i’ve been talking to you on this blog for two years, and so i will leave some of my thoughts below the resources x

i hope you utilize these resources, and act on them (through them?). more importantly, i hope you act in real life, too.

i don’t believe that my voice is the one that should be speaking right now, but i also believe that silence is wrong.

the truth is, Black Lives Matter was founded in 2013, nearly seven years ago. racism, social injustice, and inequality have been prominent and at play for much, much longer.

it’s real. and it’s wrong. things must change. we must change.

i will be the first to tell you that i don’t really like social media. in a lot of ways, i think that it creates and amplifies trends rather than voices, perspectives, stories, and experiences.

i hope that the social sharing aspect of Black Lives Matter does not become another trend.

it is no longer acceptable, nor is it appropriate, to be silent; we must all be actively anti-racist, not just on social media, but in real life, too. i will continue to speak with friends, family, and the people in my life about racism and the many, many ways it impacts human lives, as well as how we can all do our part to help create change. i will continue to act. i encourage you to do so, as well.

be an ally.

Black Lives Matter.
