a few Bible verses

hi, kind of a different post today but i wanted to share a few Bible verses that i keep going back to lately.

this is not meant to be preachy or triggering at all. in hard times i go back to my faith, but i also understand that people have used their faith to give others a hard time - which i don’t stand for at all.

personally, i don’t know that the Bible is as simple as “take what you need and forget the rest,” (maybe that is a conversation for another day) but regardless of where you are at in your faith, i hope that these verses speak to you as they have for me.

Philippians 4:12

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”

everyone quotes 4:13 but i think 4:12 is almost more important.. we’re all so quick to want more, to focus on the next thing, but finding contentment in the present is really a goal worth striving for.

john 15:13

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Ecclesiastes 3:16

And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice—wickedness was there.”

(but you should read the entire chapter, too).

1 peter 5:10

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal gloryin Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

romans 8:24

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?

1 Corinthians 15:26

“The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”
