My Wellness Essentials for Travel

I’m constantly traveling and on-the-go, so I want to share a round-up of the wellness products that help me feel my best. Travel can be taxing on the body, and while I like to pack light, these are essentials I bring with me no matter where I go.

beekeeper’s natural propolis throat spray

I lost my voice pretty badly a few years back, and now my throat gets sore anytime I’m around smoke or my sleep schedule is disrupted. This all-natural throat spray is a lifesaver, doesn’t taste bad, and gives your immune system a boost, too.

touchland power mist hydrating hand sanitizer spray

I like this hand sanitizer because it’s dye-free, doesn’t dry out your hands, the mist is fine, and it’s never leaked or broken. All of the scents smell really good without being overpowering, but there is an unscented option as well. These are available at Sephora, but you can save money by ordering a three-pack online.

refillable water bottle

I used to order at least one case of water to the hotel room whenever I traveled, but bringing a refillable water bottle is much more convenient (and better for the environment). This bottle keeps your water cold overnight, but it will also maintain the temperature of hot beverages, which comes in handy if I want to have tea in the evening.

hokas

Having comfortable shoes that you can walk miles in without getting sore or tired is a total game-changer when you’re traveling. I see people of all ages wearing Hokas everywhere I go. They’re totally worth the hype and investment as they’re lightweight, provide great support, and last forever. I have both the Clifton 9 and Bondi 8 styles; you can read my full comparison here.

sherpa fleece sweatshirt

It’s sometimes tricky to get the thermostat to a comfortable temperature, so I always bring what I call my “fuzzy” with me when I travel. Cozy like a blanket yet more versatile than a robe in cases you want to wear it out, it’s is a total life-saver. I also love these fuzzy socks, which don’t lose their softness no matter how many times you wash them.

lanolips 101 ointment multi-balm

The ultimate clean beauty lip balm; you won’t need to pack any other lip products once you try this. Thick enough to last all night and keep your lips hydrated throughout the day, the tube is more sanitary than a pot or something you dip your finger in, especially when you’re out exploring. They also have tinted versions if you prefer; my favorite scents are mint and coconut.

basic organics vitamin E ointment

Super hydrating and it comes in a jar so it’s less likely to leak than a tube of Neosporin, you can get a two- pack on Amazon for less than $20. I apply this ointment to my cuticles before bed since my hands dry out from washing them more frequently while I’m traveling. I have dry, sensitive skin, and if I notice any dry patches forming on my face, I’ll also apply this as a spot-treatment; it’s gentle, soothing, and super hydrating, but also doesn’t cause any breakouts.

flexible fabric band-aids

Probably a no-brainer, but these band aids hold up better than any other I’ve tried, even though I like the look of a Mickey band-aid a little more (kidding). When I travel, I wash my hands a lot; these band-aids don’t fall apart or lose their stickiness no matter how many times I wash them. Just like we take extra measures to avoid getting sick while traveling, you also want to cover any open cuts so keep a few in your wallet, carry-on, toiletry bag, and suitcase.

cabeau neck pillow

My boyfriend forgot this on a flight once and swore he’ll never make that mistake again. Finding the right neck pillow that’s worth lugging around is worth the trial and error; this one is lightweight, high quality, and doesn’t feel heavy on your shoulders - definitely worth the money.

essential oil diffuser

One of the newer additions to my packing list, I initially felt a little high-maintenance bringing a diffuser with me, but now that I have, I’m obsessed. Not only does it make the hotel room feel more like home, but it helps me fall asleep easier, eases any travel anxiety or homesickness, and truly comes in handy if I feel a migraine coming on. This diffuser fills the entire hotel room, is lightweight doesn’t take up much room in your suitcase (less than a pair of shoes). My favorite oils to bring are peppermint, orange, and lavender.
