Wellness Essentials from Amazon
Wellness has become a buzzword as of late, and while I love that more people are prioritizing comprehensive health (not just fitness), the market has become cluttered with too many fad products that overpromise and underdeliver. Health is something that takes time and patience; months can go by before feeling or seeing any changes, and today’s culture of instant gratification is a sharp contrast to that. I think part of our sense of urgency is a result of Amazon’s two-day (and now same-day) shipping; it’s simultaneously raised our expectations and shortened our patience. That being said, I do find Amazon to be a blessing and am grateful for the convenience it has added to my life, especially since I don’t always have time to run errands on a weekly basis.
Amazon sells just about everything these days, but finding good products can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack at times. And as I mentioned, finding high-quality wellness products can be just as difficult. Below, I’ve rounded up my favorite wellness essentials that I buy on Amazon. These are the products that have actually made a difference in my life, and I use them all daily. They’re the best of the best, and I hope that they improve your life, too.
best wellness products from amazon
levoit air purifier
To say I’m obsessed with this air purifier is an understatement; I have one of these in every room, and it really saved us during fire season. My boyfriend swears he notices a difference in the air at my house, which is saying a lot - especially since I have lots of dogs. The purifier has different intensity settings, including one for night, so you don’t have to worry about the noise level. It also syncs up to your phone so you can adjust it remotely, which is nice if you forget to turn it on before bed but don’t want to have to get up again. I typically use the timer setting to run it for 8 hours at a time, on level one or two during the day and then I’ll use the night setting while I sleep. The filters are reusable, and easy to clean, too.
beekeeper's naturals propolis throat spray
You’ve probably seen this throat spray on TikTok; I thought it was a gimmick until the curiousity got me and I decided to try it for myself. I have a really sensitive throat; I got strep, laryngitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis all at once a few years back, and it’s never really been the same since. I now get a sore throat if I’m around smokers, excess smog, and that can lead to a cold if I’m not careful, so I’m always mindful of how I’m feeling and try to protect my thoat as best as I can. This throat spray actually works; it’s 100% worth the hype, and I won’t leave the house without it. The propolis extract promotes your immune system, and can soothe a sore throat, too. I use it daily during flu season, or before I know I’ll be around the triggers I mentioned, and I feel so much better and worry less. TO use, shake then spray around 4 sprays into your mouth. The taste isn’t bad, and there’s a version for kids, too.
candle warmer lamp
Candle warmers make it healthier to enjoy candles as there’s no open flame, soot, or smoke. You can also control the intensity of how quickly it burns, which is great if you’re sensitive to strong fragrance like me. The height of this lamp is adjustable to fit a variety candle sizes; the brightness is adjustable, too. It has a remote and timer function so you can set it and forget it; I’ve tested it and can vouch that it’s accurate and consistent, which is something I personally worried about. Also, if you’ve ever dealt with an off-center candle wick or candle that won’t stop tunneling, a warming lamp is ideal and allows you to enjoy the candle without frustration. I also recommend this wick trimmer, which helps the candle burn cleaner and reduces the risk of the vessel shattering. Get yours on Amazon instead of at a store; there’s need to spend $20 when this one looks high-end and gets the job done.
essential oil diffuser
I keep this diffuser in my bathroom and love to run it while I shower; it makes my shower feel more like a spa experience and helps me wind down after a long day. This diffuser is my second favorite and I don’t travel without it; it’s small enough to fit in your carry-on and makes your entire hotel room smell good.
natural bamboo bath mat
Once you try a bamboo bath mat, you’ll never go back to the old-school bath mats, which collect mold and bacteria like crazy. The one I’ve linked is non-slip, easy to clean, and lightweight yet sturdy. You can’t beat the price, especially compared to the ones you’d find in-store.
seventh generation disinfecting multi-surface wipes
I’ve had these wipes delivered to my house every month for the last four years; you won’t find a better price anywhere else, and save even more using the subscribe feature on Amazon. I love these much more than Clorox wipes as they’re gentle but still effective enough to clean all surfaces. The lemon and mint scents are my favorite, but they’re harder to rip. Lemongrass is also more consistently in stock, so that’s what I recommend most.
dry brush
Dry brushing exfoliates your skin without causing irritation, promotes lymphatic flow and drainage, and detoxifies the skin by increasing blood circulation. I was hesitant to try it as I have extremely sensitive skin, but this is a gentle, soothing process (you’re not supposed to apply a ton of pressure). While some say to dry brush for around five minutes, I just dry brush quickly before I shower (maybe a minute or two). It’s an easy habit to stack with your other pre-shower rituals, and I really notice a difference during the drier winter months. While the price point of dry brushes seems to be all over the place, I love this one most. $25 is higher than the other brushes you see on Amazon, but the bristles are high quality and not too sharp; some of the cheaper dry brushes I’ve tried scratch your skin, which they’re not supposed to. The one I like also has a longer handle so you can get harder-to-reach areas, like your back.
organic tea bags
Another wellness product I subscribe to on Amazon is tea. My favorite brand, Art of Tea, is a high-quality, organic tea brand and their blends are so much better than what I’ve found at grocery stores. My favorites are the Earl Grey Crème and Pacific Coast Mint, which I drink every night. You save money by subscribing, and I get a better deal ordering this way as opposed to directly from the retailer’s site.
dumbbells, resistance bands, and kettlebells
Buying dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells, and an adjustable workout bench for my home has helped me prioritize fitness and made working out a consistent, easy habit. When days seem too busy to go to the gym, I love that I can roll out a mat and get a quick workout done; even 15 minutes makes a big difference in your mental and physical health. Building out a home gym can seem daunting and expensive; I recommend adding the weights to your cart and then utilizing the “save for later” feature to be notified when they go on sale. Also, these resistance bands have held up really well and kept their shape, even when I accidentally stuck them in the washer. Similarly, my go-to workout socks are from Amazon, too. They have the perfect amount of scrunch without losing their shape, and I prefer them over the Nike brand.
yoga mat
Even if you’re not looking to work out at home, this extra-thick yoga mat is essential. We should all be stretching more, and a mat will protect you more than carpet. This one has extra cushion for more support and stability; unlike what I’ve purchased in-person before, this one is much more durable and has held its shape for years. It comes in different colors and the price can’t be beat, although I have heard that some people have issues with the travel strap.
